The maximum number of students in each offering of the program is 12. This class size makes it possible for students to receive timely feedback from the course instructor(s) on the theoretical and practical components of the program. This academic approach makes it possible for students to reflect on their interpretations of the coursework and to re-conceptualize these interpretations as their understanding of childhood and early childhood professional practice deepens.
Coursework
Student practitioners learn how to be positive, present, and purposeful in their interactions with young children as they explore theories, strategies, tools, and approaches that enhance their relationships with children, families, and communities. Before graduating from RCECI, student practitioners demonstrate how to use children’s ideas as catalysts for creating early childhood programs that make early childhood joyful and meaningful.
